Bigelow played with the National and Utah Symphonies and the Smithsonian and National Chamber Orchestras. She performed in Europe, the U.S., and New Zealand. While teaching, Bigelow remained an active recitalist. However, as a teacher she influenced many of her students, who established prominent careers in viola performance.
In 2011, Bigelow was named a Fulbright Scholar. The following year, she taught at the New Zealand School of Music, and in 2013 she was featured in the BYU Alumni Magazine. Bigelow spoke at a campus wide devotional in August 2015.
