The R. Don and Shirley Oscarson Discovery Grant program is to help the best qualified senior students in communications, music, dance, visual arts, and theatre and media arts to:

(1) gain public commercial exposure, and
(2) receive training in the “Business of Art.”

Through financial grants that assist exceptional students in making a transition from the academic to the professional world, this opportunity will help students to participate in exhibits, auditions, performances, internships, etc. that will expose their work to the commercial marketplace. This does not include projects used only as résumé-builders.

A limited number of grants will be awarded two times each year. Preference is given to students who are in their final year of school before graduation.
