Allen Smith

Allen LeRoy Smith (1933-2012) was born on March 30, 1933, to Joseph and Emma Smith in Salt Lake City, Utah. In his youth Allen served his country in the US Army during the Korean War, after which he married Nelle Noleen Apgood on May 3, 1955, in the St. George Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Allen was a talented musician and artist, which led him to complete a degree in Music at Brigham Young University in 1961. After the completion of his degree he made a career in teaching music. Smith was the founder of A.S. Piano, LLC, and loved to tune pianos for the LDS Church. In 1972 Allen helped facilitate the first Joseph Smith, Sr. and Lucy Mack Smith family reunion in Nauvoo, Illinois.

On July 17, 2012 Allen passed away peacefully at the age of 79.
