Ronald P. Brough
Ronald P. Brough attended Brigham Young University from 1973 to 1977 and studied music performance. Brough began teaching at BYU in 1983 and is currently a professor in the School of Music, overseeing the jazz program. Additionally, Brough is a percussionist for the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, and for Pan Jam, his family steel band.
Brough conducted the BYU Percussion Ensemble and Panoramic Steel. He conducted BYU's production of The Wiz and has been musical director for Homecoming Spectacular. He has also performed with the Faculty Jazz Quintet and with the Brough/Wolf Percussion Duo. He has performed as percussionist with the Pioneer Memorial Theatre Orchestra, Ballet West, and the Utah Opera Company. In the past, he has performed with the Dallas Ballet, the Dallas Theatre Company, and as principal timpanist with the Terre Haute Symphony Orchestra in Indiana.
As a professor at BYU, Brough was invited to present at one of the campus' weekly devotionals in 2007.
