Marie Magleby Peralta graduated from Brigham Young University in 2009 with a bachelor's degree in print journalism.

Peralta has worked as a reporter for The Media Research Center in Washington, D.C., and The Daily Universe; interned with the Shimin Times in Matsumoto, Japan; and worked as a Human Resource Clerk for the U.S. Embassies in Cairo, Egypt and Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

In 2008, she was awarded an Oscarson Discovery Grant, which paid for her to relocate to Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates to intern with The Gulf News. She also received a grant from BYU's Office of Research and Creative Activities to research information laws in India.

Peralta now works as the Executive Assistant at The Becket Fund for Religious Liberty, a non-profit, public-interest law firm based in Washington, D.C.

She is married to Hugh Peralta.
