Lyvia A. Martinez graduated from Brigham Young University in 2010 with a degree in Media Arts Studies.

Martinez, from Arecibo, Puerto Rico, produced the student film “Inspector 42”, which won two Student Emmys in April 2010, as well as a Bronze Award for Excellence in the Craft of Filmmaking from the Kodak EASTMAN Scholarship program.

In 2010, Martinez also won $500 from the Mayhew Playwriting Competition for her play, Be Normal and the Outstanding Media Arts Student award from the Theatre and Media Arts department.

In 2014, she directed a short film, The Favorite, which received an honorable mention at the LDS Film Festival.
