Lacy Leone 'Burgi' Fitzgerald was born to Sam and Martha Burgi on January 8, 1925 in Midway, Utah.

Sam and Martha's only daughter was blessed with extraordinary musical talent and provided music at eighth grade dances and later at going-away dances for servicemen. Lacy's love of music carried her to BYU where she studied as a music major.

'Burgi' married Jay Sheldon Fitzgerald and they raised four children while living in Roosevelt, Utah; Walnut Creek and Berkeley, California; and Heber and Provo, Utah. Lacy was very involved in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and also continued providing musical entertainment at weddings, funerals, and other performances throughout her life.

Together, Jay and "Chickie" funded scholarships at Wasatch and Summit High Schools and contributed generously to civic projects.

Lacy passed quietly away March 31, 2012 in her daughter's home.
