Jean Decker Crowther
Jean Decker Crowther graduated from Brigham Youmg University in 1959 with a degree in elementary instruction and a minor in music. While attending BYU, Crowther was actively involved in the BYU community. She was a member of the BYU 23rd Ward, part of the Arizona Club, and a member of the Banyan staff.
Additionally, Crowther performed with the Philharmonic Orchestra, under the batons of Crawford Gates, Lawrence Sardoni, Richard Ballou and Harold Laycock. She also participated in the BYU Marching Band.
It was while performing in BYU bands that Crowther met her husband Duane S. Crowther. Together they have supported BYU, and the arts, throughout their entire marriage.
