In 2011, Hunsaker received the Outstanding Soloist award for his rendition of "Meglio Stasera (It Had Better Be Tonight)" at the International Championship of Collegiate A Capella at New York City's Lincoln Center. In addition, Vocal Point placed first runner-up in the competition, a noble accomplishment as more than 150 groups from around the world competed in the competition. Later that year the group also competed on NBC's "The Sing-Off" and finished in fifth place. Just a few months later they performed three concerts in a single weekend at the Covey Center for the Arts.
Hunsaker and his twin are the youngest of eleven children. He served a mission for the LDS Church to Frankfurt, Germany.
