Robert "Bob" Bauer graduated from Brigham Young University in 2005 with a bachelor's degree in theatre arts education. He is currently pursuing a master's degree at BYU. His thesis is titled "Resisting the Resistance: The Emancipation of Students from the Hidden Curriculum of Commodified Resistance in Young Adult Dystopian Film Through Open Space and Culture Jamming." He has worked as a high school teacher in the Provo City School District.
In 2015, Bauer, along with fellow students Melissa Lee and Brandon Ostler, gave a presentation entitled "Political Remix in Media Education: It's like Fan-Fiction for Social Justice... In the Classroom" at the National Association for Media Literacy Education (NAMLE).
