Allison Phillips Belnap graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor's Degree in acting in 1995 and a Master's Degree in theatre and media arts in 2001. She then graduated from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at BYU in 2011.
Since 2001, she taught acting and performance dramaturgy part-time in BYU's Department of Theatre and Media Arts for over 10 years. She designed and implemented educational theatre and training programs for the Provo Theatre Company's Youth Theatre Academy, and the Shakespeare Fellowship, where she served as the Education Director. She performed in numerous professional and amateur stage productions as well as various commercials and some film work. During 2008, Belnap directed the Young Company’s production of The Jungle Book, which toured at elementary schools across the Wasatch Front.
After graduating from BYU's Law School in 2011, Belnap worked as an associate attorney for Fillmore Spencer LLC. Belnap then worked for Holland & Hart law firm in Salt Lake City. In 2014, Belnap became the Assistant Dean to Career Services at BYU's Law School.
